Back to look for Divers again today – unsuccessfully I might add – I concentrated my attention towards some of the other nice photo opportunities around the Breakwater.  Anyone who visits the Devon beaches at this time of year will be aware of the Rock Pipits which are pretty much guaranteed – but I am sure they go unnoticed by lots of people who just see them as small brown birds.  I happen to think that they are always very photogenic, very welcome and lovely to see. So when one started to bathe in puddle right in front of me  it wasn't all that difficult to snap off a few action shots. With the reflection in the water and the spraying water, I was very pleased with the photographs. It was hard to choose the best one or two to post here. Whenever I have photographed this species I have always been really pleased with the results.  They are quite confiding and seem to always pose quite nicely with good interesting backdrops.

  1. Great pictures, I was watching these lovely birds yesterday all along the breakwater. I also saw a kingfisher on the cliff below the walkway that drops from the main Berry Head road, to Shoalstone pool.
