I have been excited this last few days……… Kingfishers on the brook, it doesn't get much  better than that.  The current situation is good, there's more than one Kingfisher at the moment and I when I get to the hide  I don't have to wait too long before there is one right there with me. I have learnt a great deal about Kingfishers this last four years and I am not seeing any different behaviour. I am not 100% certain but there appears to be two young males vying for a the territory.  The perches around the hide seem to be, as usual, very attractive and this morning for example, after a few minutes there was this beauty.

Lots of preening and scratching takes place, Kingfishers look after their plumage constantly.

This was the second fish I saw the bird catch, it's good to know that it is feeding properly.

One response to “Baby Kingfisher”

  1. All of these pics are brilliant Charlie and great to know that at least some of the parents were successful despite the awful weather this year.
