Yesterday at Turf, right at the top of the high tide a small flock of Dunlin were roosting on the old posts at the edge of the river by the small spit. There seemed to be a bit of competition for these roosting posts and as well as the Dunlin there were two Grey Plover and a few nice Redshank. As they came in to settle there was some fantastic photo opportunities, I tried really hard to get some photos of them as they flew in. However it was extreme! I had to commando crawl on my elbows for 30 feet to get to the edge of the bank through the wet and muddy grass. Then at the edge I disguised myself with my gillie hood, and it worked wellalthough the light could have been a bit better (it always can)
