I was in the Kingfisher hide late morning but I didn’t wait long enough for a visit from her, the graffiti squad were repainting the fence nearby and this caused, as you would expect, too much disturbance. But before they arrived I had a great time watching an adult Little Egret getting nearer and nearer to me, fishing as it went. At one point, when she was reasonably near, it “hopped” across the brook and I got some nice photos in flight. The bird was fishing by wading through the water and being very successful catching at least 10 fish in just a short while. In this short time, it caught Loach, minnows and sticklebacks, again confirmation of how rich in life the brook is.
