This last 24 hours have been a bit difficult because of a family bereavement which I am just trying to live with rather than get over. Life goes on however and I sat in the garden contemplating my own mortality and enjoying the peaceful tranquility with my thoughts and fears. Birds came and went and I remembered how it's because of my parents that I was inspired to keep this blog and appreciate the lovely things that I see and enjoy …….. all because of them.
So here are a couple of Blackcap pictures that I know my mother would have enjoyed seeing when she was young enough to be able to see and hear properly.
These Blackcap shots were taken as I waited for a Brambling to re-visit after Wednesday's sighting but the only callers today were 4 Chaffinch female's that I was glad to see and photograph. The Brambling, when it had visited, had been with male Chaffinches and not these females which would probably explain why there has been no sign of one both yesterday and today.
