We had fun this morning!  My angel of a daughter-in-law Carrie, has wanted to have a Kingfisher encounter of her own. I am always telling her about my hide and the brook and yesterday we went to try and see her, without luck. So before 7 this morning we went again and I could just feel that we were going to be successful, the morning was still, and the air beautifully balmy. We sat in the little hide, Carrie on "my" usual seat and me perched on a bucket next to her. After 20 minutes I was just starting to think "Oh no, it's not going to happen" .  As usual in these waits, my mind started to wander and suddenly Carrie whispered, "She's there". ……. and she was! She was carrying a fish which she ate and enjoyed.  Then she put on a real show, diving in and out to bathe and then preen. We watched her and commented about how lovely she was. Then I passed the camera to her and Carrie snapped off a few shots, then in she dived again and came up with this tiny, tiny little fish. It was a big thrill to be able to show her "my"  beautiful Kingfisher.
