A bird that is seen on every visit to Dartmoor is the Meadow Pipit. I find them very photogenic and always enjoy seeing them. From time to time at the right time of year I have watched them chasing off Cuckoos who frequently choose Meadow Pipits as a host. In the winter I see them on every visit to Exminster Marshes where they spend the winter. Typically they breed in moorland and winter in marshy areas so it is a bird I see very frequently. On a recent visit to Dartmoor I came across this young newly fledged bird which was very attractive to my eyes. One of the adults was near by.
