Today was a bit special, we have had the first snow to settle in the garden for 23 years. I just absolutely loved the light that the snow gave me. I honestly think that these shots are amongst the best that I have ever taken and that is just down to the light of course.. This Blackbird was interested in the Mealworms that I had put out to tempt the Robin who never ever did come dowm to the "bait", or the Siskins but there is always tomorrow.

I had been out to Brixham in the morning to try and get some photos of the Little Gulls reported there. As soon as I arrived at the Breakwater I realised that I had made the wrong choice because the Breakwater had been closed due to rough seas! So, I went around to Broadsands and had a look for them there but unfortunately no luck.

This was a real shame because there was a report of a sighting this afternoon at both Broadsands and Brixham, but I was already back home in Exeter by then.
So the snow came in and I was amased at how quickly it settled. I took up my position in the pop-up hide and after putting out some mealworms, I waited to see what would come in to the feeding station. At breakfast time I had caught sight of a Goldcrest and Long Tail Tits but they didn't stay around long enough to be photographed. At least I know that they are in the area again and I need to get a good shot of a Goldcrest.
