Have a look at this video to see the habitat of the Kingfisher that I mentioned yesterday. Today as I arrived the bird immediately flew over my head and perched in trees quite close. I grabbed my camera and walked to the upper pond where I could hear it calling. It wasn’t long before I saw it again but unfortunately it also became aware of me and that was the last I saw of it. I sat in this spot over looking the water concealed partly by the undergrowth but didn’t really expect to see it. As you can see it is a picturesque place and I am sure with a small amount of luck I will get some photos and even video for you. It was a showery unseasonal day and even the damselflies were keeping a low profile. I spotted a Marsh Tit very close but a lack of camera technique stopped me getting even a half decent photo.
