I took a friend along with me to the caravan this morning and I was hoping that I would get at least one Buzzard to come down and to be honest, I was quite confident that would happen. We had only been set up for 15 minutes or so when one suddenly arrived.  I had one of my cameras linked to my field monitor and recorder via an HDMI cable and when it landed on the log I had chance to press record before my friend had chance to react and record anything on his DSLR.  It came in, stayed 3 seconds, grabbed a chick and flew off!  Then after a short while it happened again, this time he was slightly more prepared but didn't get a good shot then either.  The 3rd time it happened he did get a shot which pleased me – and of course – him too. The 4th time when a bird came – can you imagine 4 chances to photograph a Buzzard – the bird, a magnificent creature got spooked by something and left immediately.  You can see all this on the video above.  It was a great morning and I massively enjoyed sharing the experience with someone else and giving them the chance to see Buzzards really close which is not something that you get to see all that often.  I have started to take it for granted!
