The Robin photo opportunities were brilliant in the garden yesterday. in the morning with good, bright light from the east end of the garden, I watched and photographed both the adult Robins as they came to collect mealworms. Then later in the day with the light now coming from the west it was even better and with the diffused plastic of my garden polytunnel as a backdrop I was just blown away by the results. What is more, I also have House Sparrows nesting in the eves of my house and they were coming to take the mealworms as well and there was some conflict between the two species.
The house sparrows are just as interested in the mealworms as the Robins, in fact more so and on a few occasions I couldn't get back to the camera quick enough before they had come to take them.
This one was in the morning and the one below with the evening light.
