It's always nice to see a Dipper and we are lucky here in Devon to have them not far from the main towns and cities of the county.  You can pretty much go and find yourself one if you are so inclined and that's what I did today.

I haven't looked too hard for a nest this year but I would imagine that this bird is feeding young somewhere not too far away.   Dippers are hard to photograph though, the white breast is always difficult to capture without it being "over-exposed" and if you get that right then the rest of the body will be often under-exposed and appear dark and that's not to mention the fast flowing water which is usually reflecting the bright sky above.  Yes, a hard bird to photograph.  I have recently returned from a trip to Spain.  I will be posting some of my best pictures from that trip over the next week.
