I always notice that when I post pictures of common British birds, readers of the Blog from the USA find them very interesting because they are unfamiliar. By the same token, British readers are very interested in species from the USA and today I photographed an American Wigeon that has been on the local marsh amongst the European Widgeon. I was very lucky because when I went to see if I could get a photograph this morning it was showing as close to the road as had been. It was a good opportunity.
