Now with the chicks at 19 days the adults are likely to be away from the nest ledge for longer and longer periods and that's just the way it is now.  At the beginning of the visit, prey was brought and exchanged as normal, that was 2 hours ago and since then the adults have been away.  From time to time the distant sound of a peregrine scream breaks the silence and no doubt patience is all it is going to take before  they return yet again, and for certain they will.

Cameras are set up but the light is less than ideal today, too bright with a high sun, strong shadows and  a heat haze and shimmer.
The chicks are now showing some wing feathers emerging through the down.  I am sure that these facts have been noted  before but I do like to record  details for myself.
The time between feeds is quite long, the chicks were fed just after 11 and it's now coming up to 3 o'clock.   Digestion of a meal is relatively slow which would account for the extended time tween feeds.  The chicks do not require brooding now either and therefore there is relatively little to observe at these quiet times.  The falcon returned briefly a while back, she perched on her favourite branch in a most unceremonious way,  misjudging her landing and giving me a good photo opportunity.  Apart from that, it was all very quiet today.
