I couldnt believe my luck this evening.  I had been invited over to a property somewhere in Mid-Devon because they had Little Owls breeding around the farm yard.  I tripped over this evening just for a recce, I wanted to take a look and then plan a strategy to get some photographs.  As I was being shown around I saw a Little Owl  after just a few minutes and then another just a few moments later.  Brilliant.  This is a bird that I have seen before of course but rarely in Devon and even more rarely in the last 10 years.  This site is deffinitely going to be kept very secret at the wish of the owner and I am not going to betray that trust.

I decided to sit down by a fence close to where I had seen the bird and it wasn't long before it apeared again high in an Oak tree looking down on me beneath.  It was wonderful to get a really good look at it and see the bright yellow eyes staring down at me.   At first I missed the shot, I was disappointed but not undaunted and remained until it returned for another look at me and this time I was ready and  I  took some nice pictures.  I have got a good  planto go back and get som more pictures and I am sure that I will have some good phots to show you before very long.
