Most winters you can find a solitary Greenshank in Cookwood Harbour at low tide.

Little egret head

The Harbour Ragworm are obviously a good source of protein for these birds.  This is a Little Egret of course. It's the first time I have seen Little Egrets feeding on them though.

Shellduck.

I don't often get a good opportunity to photograph Shelduck so it was a nice surprise to find a pair in the harbour this afternoon.
