I had only been in the hide for minutes when this little beauty arrived, obviously this is his patch and it's great to have him.
He dived in to fish and came up with…… a lump of wood……. obviously not got things sorted properly yet.
How lovely are these birds, Kingfishers, one of the world's nicest birds surely, and on my doorstep.
You can tell a young Kingfisher in three ways. 1. White tip to the beak. 2. Smoky blackish markings on the breast and 3. The red feet are blackish which will disappear as the season progresses.
