My quest to photograph the Jays continued yesterday, I had mentioned that I wasn't certain if the bird that I see regularly was in fact more than one and yesterday that was confirmed as two, a matching pair and impossible to tell apart, arried together. I am expecting to see juveniles any doay now as well, I  am pretty sure that there is a nest somewhere near.

Its interesting to see that peanuts are the prefered choice before the day old chicks.

But when all the nuts have been taken the chicks are the main course.

This is an interesting photo, in the rain as you can see. Jays have the ability to raise their crown feathers to a crest, they do this to show aggression or when the are threatened. I think he had an idea that I was in the hide, perhaps he heard the shutter on the camera but he stared in my direction and stayed still, holding that pose befor he flew off. He wasn't that worried though because it wasn't long before he returned.
