Still feeling a little under the weather today, I staggered back to the hide on the river to pursue, what some would consider to be an obsession. But that's me!   As soon as I sat down and tucked myself in, I was comfortable and ready for the inevitable wait.  Wait I certainly did, after an hour or so I got out of the hide and walked down the river only to meet the male Dipper singing loudly as he made his way towards my position. I had got it wrong, if I had stayed in the hide for just a few more minutes he would have been there in front of me.  This is a bit hard to take when you have been waiting for so long but a lesson well learned…… patience is a necessity!

I sat for a couple of hours more and was just about to leave when a Wagtail appeared down stream working the bank towards me.  I wanted to experiment with flash so I waited until it was close enough to photograph. When the Wagtail had gone I was just about to pack up again but at last a Dipper was in view down stream. Like the Wagtail before, it eventually arrived there right in front of me and I had the chance that I had been waiting for. The light had started to go by now though, but I did get a smashing shot that made it all worthwhile.
