An afternoon on Exminster Marsh

Please click on the link above to hear today's Podcast where I chat with local birders about their day on the marsh which was a lot of fun.  This is a new feature for the blog and will take us in to a whole new area.

But first a bit about the afternoon and a few photos.  After fixing my flat tyre (spelt tire in US)….. weird! I made my way out on to the marsh in glorious sunshine, it was slightly warmer but it was still frosty and the canal was frozen over. The birds were still feeding on the grass as you can see from the photos.  Please listen to the Podcast for more details.  There was a sizeable group of Black-tailed Godwits and Dunlins together and I took photos through my car window.  Looking at the images later, most were ruined because the engine was running and the imperceptable vibrations caused was enough to ruin the images, a healthy lesson learnt.
