I built a little structure of rocks and covered it with a cam tarpaulin, climbed inside and waited for the Avocets to get nearer. Unfortunately they didn’t get as close as I would have liked but I did get some photos and with a crop I have got something to post here. It would be nice to see if I can get a bit closer when I return and hopefully with some sunny weather I could have a bit more success.

You should publish an end of year special on your consealment techniques – with a series of photos of the consealment alongside photos of what you managed to capture on camera. It would make for enjoyable reading during the long dark nights of winter and, i am sure, would bring many happy memories back to you of what has been a remarkable year with your camera, new lenses, flash guns etc.
