Just a couple of pictures from today, I went back to my Kingfisher Hide twice but a combination of bad weather and dog walkers disturbed the birds constantly. The Egret (pictured) had about three tries to come and fish in front of me and each time finished up being spooked. But it is a public park and other people have the right to use it just as much as me. In the end I had to give up when the rain started to teem down. I was looking around the hide for more evidence of wildlife activity and it's obvious that otters have been using the waterway over the last week. Several really obvious piles of mud with spraint and tracks everywhere. I am still confident that one day I will see an otter in the day light and mange a photograph. Mallard ducks are not hard to see of course but this one has been near to me in front of the hide a lot. It might be a very common bird but it's still nice to get a photo when they are wary like this bird is. For some reason, it's very satisfying.
