Today was more of the same. Chiffchaff, Wrens and Herons. AT 10 o’clock it was still misty and almost impossible to get a photograph but then suddenly it lifted and the day became unusually hot. I had a good sighting in the mist though. As I walked towards Turf from the Fishermans Car park I caught sight of a black shape bounding towards me, a Mink, the first I had seen for quite a few years. I took photos but due to the speed of the animal as it ran towards me and the misty conditions, not one was good enough to keep. I parked myself next to the site where before I had seen Chiffchaffs and Wrens, and hoped for a repeat and perhaps better shots, and thats exactly the way it turned out as you can see. Both the Wren and warbler were feeding on tiny flies which suddenly became active as soon as the mist cleared and the air got warmer.
The Heron was very accommodating yet again and I took so many photos of him in flight, it was almost impossible to choose one to post but these two are about the best.
