A walk along the beach at  Exmouth tonight looking for one last shot of the Sabines Gulls and perhaps Grey Phalarope turned out to be a bit of a disappointment with no sign of either. As it happened, the light wasn't as good as the night before so it was a none event unforunately.  However, the sun streaned through a hole in the cloud, just for an instant, and the effect was stunning.  The picture does not do it justice but you get the idea.

On the subject of artistic photos, when we had the Long-tailed Tits in the garden this morning, one was feeding in the Sumac Tree which is stating to turn red with an Autumnal glow and I couldn't resist posting the picture because I thought it was so pretty.  You can just about see the Long-tail Tit peeping through the red leaves and seeding heads.
