The Mediterranean Gulls is a really attractive species of Gull that is now established as a breeding bird in the South of England, but a comparatively rare sight. I had got wind that there were a few amongst Black Headed Gulls on the beach at Exmouth. To be honest though, I thought they would be hard to find, but when I went last night, late in the evening, I found them relatively easily on the beach. The light, albeit only for a short while, was almost exotic and I took photos which was an improvement on my previous Mediterranean Gull photos. The beach was quite busy so they were disturbed easily and it was hard to get as close as I would have liked. This juvenile Black headed Gull was quite a picture and I haven’t realised that they were so attractive.
