Dipping Dipper
I have been watching the Dippers locally for the last 6 weeks. I have been  to watch them, to take notes,  and to photograph them most of those 42 days. Eventually I saw them carrying nesting material and then discovered their nest. Building continued  and then eventually, eggs were laid. Incubation began and today went I back  having not been since Saturday. Sadly the nest has been predated, the eggs eaten and smashed. Disaster to say the least and I was filled with despair when I discovered the worst. I wasn't certain that the sitting female was safe but later, to my relief, I saw both birds feeding and took this photograph of the female.  I have been keeping a detailed photographic diary of the event which you can read and see by clicking on the link on the main page of this Blog. You will need a password which you can ask for by emailing me.
