I have been doing particularly well just lately with my Dipper quest and getting some absolutely great views of them.  If you want to photograph Dippers, and for that matter, any species of bird you need to do some study and learn as much as you can about their behaviour. I have been watching this pair of Dippers, and sometimes a 'threesome" for the last month now and have really got to know them. Today I concealed myself by covering completely with a military cape.  On top of that  I used some "scrim" netting and then I covered up with dead leaves and the roots of foliage…… I was well hidden and in a lying position, blending in with my surroundings perfectly.  I was very comfortable and warm with a great view of the water.  I was able to get this shot from only a few feet of this bird and it had no idea of my presence.
