I’m not sure that this sequence, taken from my video camera this morning, really does the bird justice but perhaps you may find it interesting. As you can obviously see, the light can be very hard to deal with at dawn, and this proved to be the case today. Then when it eventually got bright enough to freeze the action, she had finished her early morning hunt. The session was good fun to watch though, she gave me a great show. She prefers the top of my hide to all other perches though which is extremely frustrating.
After having fun with her this morning my life took a turn for the worse, as I had to visit the dentist for canal root treatment….. what an absolute nightmare and one I hope never to have to repeat again.
I returned bruised, battered and numb to catch some more fish for the tank, the others had been in there for six days and I thought they deserved to have a new lease of life back in the wild. I caught lots of Minnows, some quite big, Sticklebacks and a nice loach which was good to see. Then after 4 I went back to carry on with the filming and she was with me several times but didn’t dive in to the tank because the water was so cloudy in the tank and I am sure she couldn’t see the fish all though she had a good look yet again.
