With fish
Here it is at last………. hours and hours of effort and waiting. This is a video grab. The speed of the dive is absolutely amazing, you just can not believe how fast and controlled the dive is.  There is absolutely no way that the bird would hit the bottom of the tank, or the bottom of the brook for that matter because they are so agile and in control. They fly under water with real control but also with so much speed you can hardly keep your eye on them.

  2. hello charlie ,well done ,all your hard work is paying off,i cant seem to get through on your e mail link charlie ,but READ this ,it is 2.10 am i have just got back from walking dog near brook ,,i will tell (show )you later location .i have just been watching 2 otters further up from the bridge in the brook ,i shone my lamp up through both sides of the top banks to see if any foxes were about (none)but caught a pair of eyes approx 40 yards away in the over flow channel,then 4 eyes.swiched lamp off and tied dog up and went over a gate onto top of bank,got to within ten yards of location but they had completely vanished?i was bemused as they had nowhere to go,i sat in the dark for about 5mins and put the lamp up through again,i caught what i thougt was a rat coming down the side of the wall,to my astonishment it was an otter head looking at me through an overflow viaduct in the wall,it turned and ran back through clanking back through the pipe as it went ,i went back to dog ,another 5 mins and i shone back ,this time i startled both of them as they were out and heading upstream ,they scampered back to pipe ,spraints visable
