I went to the hide just after breakfast, and at last  she managed to pluck up the courage to enter the tank.  The trouble was, I hadn't got my camera in the correct place, I had imagined that she was going to go to the bottom and have a go at the large minnows but that wasn't the case, she just had a quick dip for a small Stickleback near the surface.  I managed to get some film on the Video camera of this and I have taken a few stills from the short run of action.  The interaction was brilliant though. I saw her coming towards me and didn't realise where she had gone, but she was sat on the hide inches above my head.  Then she went to the perch above the tank and proceeded to "sus" it out. She was bobbing as they do, trying to get her angles right.  After a bit she flew back up to the hide and I could see her through the material above me, almost on my head.  I had the radio on, not loud though, but that didn't worry her at all.  She went back to the perch and in the end she made a dive in to the tank.  I snapped away but missed the action as I said. Eventually she went back to her favourite perch……… on my hide ………. and then back to the main brook, she caught a fish and then left. Quite an experience.

Wow……… it was almost good but it's only going to get better.  It is, however, so time consuming with hours in between the action, but well worth it when it comes together and like I have said before, I feel so very priviledged. Below are a couple of shots of her looking in tio the tank etc.

Just caught up with your blog & amazing photographs of kingfishers, “Beaky” in particular. I’m staggered that a wild bird took only 3 days to accept the tank and fish from it.
Thank you so much for sharing these – and all your other – wonderful photos online for all to see.
