Another great day yesterday with a sunny start which I missed, but by mid-morning I was in the hide in the still great conditions to take advantage of the light. I have been videoing the Kingfisher over the last few days and yesterdayI got some nice film but unfortunately, I can't seem to get it sorted to post on here, but I will soon! So check back. I think these Kingfisher photos posted here today (from yesterday), show how, even in the exact same location of the exact same subject, a photograph can be so different depending on the prevailing light. We seem to have almost Autumnal colours now which gives the pictures a lovely look. IMGP6451a

We have had a Spotted Sandpiper at Turf, (that's on the Exe Estuary by the way). This is a bird that I am very familiar with having seen and photographed adults in breeding plumage on the beach almost daily in South Florida this spring. However, the bird here in the UK…… lost on migration…….. is an extreme rarity for this country. It's a juvenile bird so not as attractive as an adult, but worth a look. I have been to Turf twice recently to photograph it and both times  been unlucky, but back again in a few minutes. Whilst at Turf I took the rock Pipit photo (above) a lovely species I think.
