It started off as a pleasant sunny day but quickly deteriorated in to a dreary overcast one. The garden has gone very quiet again and I actually saw the Sparrowhawk swoop on to my feeding station. Quite a sight.  Not sure if she got anything but the chickens were aware of her and protested loudly as always. After a long look for her, there was no sign, so she was skulking somewhere as always,  I decided that today might be a good one to get to grips with the flash gun, so I headed to my new site and set myself up.  I have to confess that it was not the most successful thing I have done but I did mange to photograph a few birds, mainly Black-tailed Godwits again. I did get a good shot of an Egret eating a Shrimp. It's always good to see them catch something different, and I hadn't realised that this was what they are feeding on.

On Wednesday I took a few photos of a Common Sandpiper in flight.  One or two of them were quite good. I was hoping that I would be able to get close to them today but it didn't happen……………. but it will.  In the meantime here is one of those distant flight shots in very grey conditions.
