Two different Kingfishers on a lovely morning….. and then Dippers from a late morning session.

I went to the hide at 7 with a young man, Alex who’s Gran is a friend of ours. He was described as a photographer and he wanted to get some KF photos, who wouldn’t? He was incredibly lucky because we had the rarity of not one but two different birds. The first arrived with hardly a wait and perched nicely for us, then left to fish elsewhere. It returned quickly with a little fish and Alex too some great photos. Then, after we had waited for a while, who should turn up but the original female who put on her show for us. This included her usual early morning ablutions. Alex was n extremely mature and articulate young man who knew the ins and outs of his camera far me than me and I enjoyed listening to him and sharing the wonderful Kingfishers. The one above is a young male, note the all black beak and below is the female. I am very pleased with this photo, both are cropped by the way.
