Suddenly, this time there was a fanfare! I was in the hide by around 7 and felt very tired. my confidence was low because I hadn't photographed a KF since last Wednesday. Had she moved on on to another part of the territory?  She flashed past me at around 7.30 and my hopes were lifted, then a few minutes later,  as I started to almost doze again, there was a loud call …. the fanfare ……. and she landed very close with a great big minnow. Was she telling any other Kingfishers in the area to keep clear?  I think so!  She dealt with it,  had a bath and a scracth, tried  out the other perches and then there was a distant call from another KF and off she went to sort out the intruder. Fabulous, fabulous fabulous and all before 8 this morning, it doesn't get any better.

One response to “Kingfisher eats a Minnow”

  1. IMGP5051a is the best by far of that series Charlie – great timing on that shot and has real impact.
nice one – that’s the keeper!
