Collared Doves are nesting in my garden at the moment. I am a lover of theses elegant and pretty doves who were absent from the UK until 1956. During my lifetime they have pretty much become one of the commonly seen garden birds and there are not many gardens in the UK that they are absent from all throughout the year. I am taken by their gorgeous red eye which is not seen from a distance but from my garden hide this morning this male was showing really well in the sunshine.
