This morning I arrived at the hide at 0600. It was a nice pleasant early morning with the sun just rising and an orange glow in the sky. The light for photography wasn't ideal at first but it got better and better so at 07.27 when the KF landed on the perch, it was perfect. My real quest now is to try and get the in-flight shots that have eluded me for so long and to achieve this, everything needs to be in place. Obviously you need a bird to photograph! But after that, good enough light to achieve 1000 sec (at least), and preferably better. So today by 07.27, it was all in place…….. and there she was. She, (yes it was the dark legged female), did a bit of fishing and caught a very small fish which she ate very quickly. Then she flew off to the branch opposite and as she "kicked" away from the perch, my reflexes were quick enough to press the viewfinder before she left the frame. When I checked the review on the camera and saw the results, a warm glow spread through me…… a glow of satisfaction and achievement
