Wheater2

It's been an interesting day here in Yorkshire, apart from spending quality  time with my gorgeous grandaughter  ……………… one year old tomorrow, I have had a couple of nice sessions. I don 't often see Wheatear, in fact the last one was here in Yorkshire last May. This smashing little bird was on the high Saddleworth Moor   and was very confiding, perhaps it had never seen people before because it is quite isolated up there.

During the day as I drove across the moor I had seen a covey of Red Grouse. I was  glad that  I managed to grab a few shots as they peered at me above the grass.

A White Tailed Bumble Bee – Bombous lucorum at Meltham Moor today.

Of course, this is not a Kingfisher from Yorkshire but one of the photos from yesterday morning's session just to keep you happy if you have visited the Blog looking for more Kingfisher shots. I took around 300 yesterday and have yet to sort through. Amongst them are some great shots which I will be able to post when I return to Devon at the end of the week.
