I really put some time in to this picture today. It was just after 4 when I went down to the brook and apart from a short break for tea I was still there at 8.15. A total of about 3 1/2 hours. After my tea break, at 6.30 I approached the hide and she was sat on her new favourite perch. She saw me and left sharpish! I then had to wait until around 7.40 when she arrived back to her favourite perch yet again. I started taking pictures and managed 14 or so before she flew off. As I have said before, she is only a few feet away when she is on this perch and it is magical to see her so close. I think this picture is about as good as it could be and I am really pleased with it.
It was actually quite a good day for birds. The garden has started to come to life again and there were Blue Tits, Great Tits, Goldfinch both adults and youngsters and a Greenfinch. However at the brook waiting for the KF, I had some really nice visits from other birds. A Greenfinch came in to drink, really unusual, I haven't see one do that before.
Grey Wagtails and Sparrows are no strangers but these photos are definitely worth sharing with you.
