Mallards are common ducks, native to Britain but like lots of nice things, now spread by our forefathers to almost all the corners of the world. For example, Football (soccer to you Americans), Rugby, Cricket, Jet engines, the printing press and democracy!!!!! I'll leave it there, but there are lots of others …. oh I forgot TV. But enough of the tub thumping and back to wildlife. Mallard meed no introduction but when truly wild can be hard to get really close to. It was therefore, nice when this mother and her 9 babies camped in front of the hide and I took these very cute pictures.
