At the beginning of our trip, which has lasted more than 40 days now because of the Icelandic Volcano, Pelicans were at the centre of my photographic radar. I tried really hard to get some good pictures of them diving and fishing. Yesterday, I thought I would have another "last" go before we climb back on board the plane tomorrow. I am getting better at it because  I got a few crackers, not only of the dive, but also really good flight shots…….. not hard really as they are so big and glide around quite a lot.

Notice that this one is ringed( or banded) as our American cousins would say……..trust them to be different!!! It would be a good project to discover more about this bird so watch this space, I will do some avian detective work.

This one is a juvenile (yes that is the correct spelling in English). Note the difference between this one and the adult above.
