I visited an area in Palm Beach County today and in the company of Greg, a local resident, we went to try and find a pair of Bald Eagles and their fledged juvenile. With much anticipation, I arrived at around 7.30 and after we met up we started our walk to an area where the Eagles had nested and they had recently been seen. As we walked down a canal side I had a good sense of anticipation which unfortunately, at first seemed to be unfounded as far as the Eagles were concerned. It was a very wild and beautiful area with a lot of potential but after around two hours the only birds to be seen were the usuals, apart from a nice Pileated Woodpecker that didn't show for a photo, but never the less I enjoyed seeing. After 2 hours, when we had pretty much given up, a young Eagle suddenly came in to view from behind some high pines,  glided and soared towards us.  It was immensely impressive as at glided above us  sometimes quite close, but as quickly as it arrived on the scene, it had disappeared from view. We returned a couple of hours later in the hope of seeing the adults but unfortunately, again the only Eagle to be seen was the same Juvenile. This time it seemed to be on the look out for prey and we hoped that it would come down to the nearby lake to fish, but no such luck!
