The Wakadahatchee Wetlands near Delray and Boynton is an amazing place. It is like some kind of "special" zoo where the inhabitants come and go as they please. Thankfully they choose to stay and give absolutely amazing close views of every intimate moment of their lives. I deliberately hadn't been until now because it is such a rich habitat that pretty much everywhere else afterwards pales in to insignificance. Species were numerous and varied and I took around 400 photographs. I have decided to concentrate on  individuals rather than endless confusing pictures of different species. So Great White Herons, which nest in the trees adjacent to the 3/4 mile long board walks, were really impressive and as the sun started to lower the light was perfect for these flight shots. I wasn't the only one who thought so because there was at least 12 other photographers with all sorts of expensive equipment and lenses who agreed!
