Grey Squirrels are native to the Eastern states of the USA  and Canada, As most people are aware, they are also now, the predominant squirrel species in the UK after their mis-guided introduction in the 19th century. In the UK they are not admired by informed naturalists because of their invasive qualities and the consequential displacement of the, arguably more attractive and native Red Squirrel.

However whenever I see them in their native USA I  always like them for their photogenic qualities and this morning I enjoyed spending a few minutes with a couple. As you can see they posed beautifully for me in the early morning light.

After a heavy downpour overnight, conditions this morning were interesting and in West Lake Park I did see a small group of migrating warblers and I caught a glimpse of a Vireo but didn't, unfortunately, get a picture. I did get lovely shots of, both Prairie Warbler, the first species below and a male Yellow Throat.
