Today is my last day before leaving for an extended holiday in South Florida. This is an annual event for me  and one that I very much look forward to. I must admit though, I have had such a great time at home during the last few weeks that I will be a bit sad to leave my favourites behind. I went this morning, to say good-bye to my Kingfisher and yes, he came to see me and gave me a really good show. This Egret, a male and not the female that has been resident since late summer came really close to my hide and  then posed for his photo…… note the plume. Quite a coincidence because Florida is a haven for several heron species.  My next post will be from Florida and if you are a regular reader of my blog please be assured that I will post most days and have some really interesting photos and stories to tell you………. guaranteed.
