We have had just magnificent sunny weather today and I spent most of it waiting in my hide for the kingfisher to show. It didn’t perch unfortunately but it flashed past me on two occasions. The Grey Wagtail male was accommodating fortunately. Yesterday we had some very heavy rain and the brook was flooding through at around two feet higher than previously. I am sure that this is going to have some kind of effect on the Kingfishers feeding, the water is now the colour of weak tea and I can imagine that seeing prey must be difficult.
