So here I am back in Devon, I nearly said heaven because it feels like that. I have spent the last 6 days sleeping on a Futon, sounds trendy but in actual fact is more like a Sainsbury’s pallet and if you stay on it more than 5 hours it takes 6 to get the feeling back in your spine! The climb down the attic ladder at first light is akin to Neil Armstrong’s first step and to make it in to the bathroom without injury makes you realise how Edmund Hillary felt, but at least he had Sherpa Tensing to help him! I  have, however, had a wonderful time however watching my new born baby grandchild and her lovely mum and dad, my son and his wife. It suddenly makes you realise what life should be about.Â

Even though I am not as close to the owl as I would have liked it still gives a good idea of the habitat and bleakness of the environment that the birds prefer.
