A flock of Brent Geese takes to the air………………………what a sight!
Bowling Green Marsh is an interesting place, just a tad on the busy side for my taste but then there is so much to see and it’s all layed out in front of the viewing platform. Today amongst the Avocets, Redshank, Godwits and Dunlin was a Spotted Redshank, not a common bird and a treat to see. If you haven’t seen one before then look out for a bird more like a Greenshank but with red legs and only a partial red beak.

There were nice flocks of Brent Geese, Widgeon and Black-tailed Godwits in the fields. In the woods a Greater Spotted Woodpecker and Jay were showing now and again. Considering the amount of human activity it’s amazing how much birdlife there is and if it is anything it is a great example of wildlife and humans living in close proximity. Not my ideal place but lovely never the less.

This Dunnock gave me a chance to snap this great portrait.
