BC 3

I have been surfing through my pictures from this year, I was going to post a “photo of the year” but I don’t think I need to look any further than this. The more I look at it the more I like it. What a lovely glorious sunny day we were privileged with today. I knew it was going to be a good day for birds in the garden, the weather was bright and the light perfect and now that the garden birds are all visiting the feeders almost constantly, well there are not many winter days when it all comes together at the same time. Add to that the presence of at least 1 Blackcap Warbler, possibly 2 then there was a lot to be happy about. So I sat in the hide chair at the top of the garden and waited for one of the Blackcaps to appear on the apple. After just a few minutes, here he was. I took a few hundred photos, most were good but not perfect and I learned a lot from the differing camera settings. In the really bright light there is a large amount of shadow. This can make things hard so there is a large degree of wastage caused by bird movement mostly. Theses few shots were the best ones.
