Due to family commitments over the weekend, wildlife watching has been off the agenda but a trip to the seaside with family gave me the chance to take my camera. Who knows what I might bump in to. On the sand at Bigbury this very large immature/juvenile gull was feeding and I am pretty sure that it is a Great Black Backed Gull.
Juvenile Great Black Backed Gull There was also a large flock of Black Headed Gull I checked them closely for a Mediteranean or Little……… well you never know!

When I got home and checked out the Rare Bird Alert web site there was a report of a Cattle Egret this morning, so I jumped on the Chinese Scooter and went for a look. No sign of it now I am afraid to say but I am confidant that it will still be around for a few days and I can get some photos tomorrow perhaps. I bumped in to the warden “AJ” who was acting very suspiciously and I am sure he was looking for something else reported, you would think he would share that kind of information with people like me wouldn’t you? Although the weather was dull by now and not good for photos I was very surprised to see the amount of Teal on the “Spoonbill” pond. I took this photo just to post here for you.
