To anyone who has been wondering why the blog has not been updated in the last week or so………….. well I am sorry but my Blog Host has had some real problems and I have not been able to access the post page to do it..
So, any way I am back at last and I must confess that I was getting pretty irate and frustrated. Its been a really good week or so as well with lots of things to report. First of all RED BACKED SHRIKE which I have been lucky enough to see on two separate occasions. Then there is the saga of the Dartford Warbler and of course the cuckoos. Where do I start. Well with Dartford Warblers I think. I just can not believe how lucky I have been to observe them this last week. I have taken photos that I am very proud off, I really think that I have managed to get the best out of my camera but still not 100% happy with the results in spite of at least 3 of the images….. I have posted them here…….. being the best shots that I have taken. Well first there is this one of a hen in flight. I was shown the territory by a nice knowledgeable lady whom I bumped into on DartmoorDarty_in_flight
who casually mentioned that she had been watching them and would I like to be shown where. “Of course” I said and within minutes I was taking photos of my first Dartford Warblers! Over the course of the week the weather has been lousy so it wasn’t until yesterday and a bit of bright sun that I managed to get shots that I am really proud of. Photo number 2 shows a male and the 3rd one the female again with her beak stuffed with food. Imgp0512
